“ISSB urged to prioritise international standards for reporting on human and worker rights”

- According to Share Action, “An investor coalition, managing assets of more than one trillion USD, including Impax Asset Management, The Universities Superannuation Scheme and Sycomore Asset Management is calling on the International Sustainability Standards Board to make human capital and human rights a priority for its next set of global reporting standards.”
- “The letter, coordinated by responsible investment NGO ShareAction and signed by 24 investors across the globe, states investor demand for greater volumes of better-quality workforce data “is at an all-time high” and urges the ISSB to “to prioritise researching human capital and human rights disclosure standards in its upcoming two-year work plan”.”
- Further, “These investors span six countries and include a mix of asset managers and asset owners.” They believe that addressing human capital and human rights together is essential, as these areas are often interconnected in practice. The letter highlights the importance of transparency in corporate practices to address labor and human rights issues and create a globally accepted reporting framework.

- According to LG ESG Reporting 2022-2023, “In 2021, LG began constructing ‘LG ESG Intelligence’, the Group’s IT platform designed for the realization of Digitalization × ESG, and it was officially launched in June 2023 for our top 10 affiliates.”
- LG is also “establishing an ESG information management system to ensure the continuous and objective operation of the IT platform. The system includes the establishment of internal control procedures, standardization of indicators, and enhancement of data integrity verification.”
- “LG will implement and expand various support functions, starting from the business location where data is generated and managed, all the way to the executive team making decisions. Through this, LG will achieve its unique ESG Intelligence.”
- LG’s move represents a commitment to data-driven sustainability efforts, increased transparency, and alignment with international ESG reporting standards.

- アサヒ飲料株式会社は、『2024年4月から愛知県小牧市内で市民が分別した使用済みのペットボトル全量を、豊田通商のグループ会社である豊通ペットリサイクルシステムズ株式会社(本社 滋賀、社長 小坂彦二)がメカニカルリサイクルにより横河電機ペットボトル原料に再生し、アサヒ飲料、伊藤園、キリンビバレッジのペットボトル製品に再利用する予定』と発表し、『これにより1年間で約400tのペットボトルが再利用される見込み』である。
- 自治体だけでなく、廃棄物の多い食品、アパレルなどの消費財業界において、競合他社との連携を深め、より大きなインパクトを与えることで、持続可能な資源循環や環境貢献が浸透していくのかが注目される。
横河電機株式会社『オーストラリア商用グリーン水素プロジェクト「ユリ」のエネルギー管理システムを受注～プラント制御とエネルギー管理システムを融合～』

- 同社は、『子会社のヨコガワ・オーストラリア（本社：シドニー 社長：ラッセル・パルマ―）が、Monford Group（モンフォード・グループ）からオーストラリアの商用グリーン水素プロジェクト「ユリ」の初期フェーズでのエネルギー管理システム（EMS：Energy Management System）を受注』と発表。
- プロジェクトの詳細については、『仏電力大手ENGIE S.A.（エンジー社）の100%子会社であるENGIE Renewable Australia（エンジ―・リニューアブル・オーストラリア社）と三井物産株式会社が出資する豪州事業会社、Yuri Operations Pty Ltd（ユリ・オペレーションズ社）が運営します。EPCC（設計・調達・建設・試運転）を手掛けるテクニップ・エナジーズと豪大手建設会社のMonford Group（モンフォード・グループ）のコンソーシアムは、2024年の操業開始に向けて、18メガワットの太陽光発電設備と8メガワットの定置用蓄電池システムを利用して水素を製造する10メガワットの電解槽を、西オーストラリア ピルバラに建設中』であり、『ヨコガワ・オーストラリアは、横河電機の子会社であるPXiSE Energy Solutions LLC（パイス・エナジー・ソリューションズ社）のソリューションを用いて、太陽光発電設備、定置用蓄電池システム、電解槽を制御するエネルギー管理システムを提供』と発表されている。
- 横河電機、エネルギー＆サステナビリティ事業本部長は『複数のシステムが有機的に接続するSystem of Systemsが進む世の中において、当社は、プラント制御と、複雑な電力システムを高速に制御できるエネルギー管理システムの双方を有機的に組み合わせることでより付加価値の高いソリューションを提供し、お客様のESG経営の実現に貢献していきます』と述べている。今後も同社が高い技術力を活かし、拡大が予想される水素関連プロジェクトの参加により、海外ビジネスを拡大できるかに注目したい。
