【長谷工コーポレーション、NTTなど】養殖ビジネス化に向けた取り組みを加速
（2023/7/20）
- 長谷工コーポレーションは、エア・ウォーター、STIフードホールディングス、積水化学工業、三井住友信託銀行、三井物産、三菱UFJ銀行と連携し、FRDジャパンの増資に210億円を投じると発表。FRDは、環境に負荷の低いサーモン養殖を実現し、日本を含むアジアで大規模プラントの展開を目指している。今回の増資は、プラントの建設資金に加え、運転資金や研究・開発・投資資金に充てる予定。
- 同日、いちい、岡山理科大学、NTT東日本は「好適環境水」を用いた、完全閉鎖循環式陸上養殖ビジネス化の実証実験の成果を報告。この実験において、世界初となる「ベニザケ」の陸上養殖に成功したと発表した。
- FRDとNTTの陸上養殖ビジネス拡大によって、持続可能な食と環境に貢献できるポジティブなインパクトが期待される。世界的な人口増加や食文化の変化を背景に、水産物の需要は年々増加しており、再生産可能な養殖水産物に対するニーズはますます高まっている。今後も伸長する水産物需要を支えるためには、陸上養殖の産業化が必要であり、テクノロジーの活用により事業拡大のビジネスポテンシャルが高まりつつある。

【アマゾン】サプライヤーに排出量報告を義務付け、気候目標を設定へ

- アマゾンは、サプライヤーに排出量の報告と気候変動目標の設定を義務付けると発表。この新しい要件は、年間10,000トン以上の排出量を出すすべてのサプライヤーに適用される。
- サプライヤーは、排出量データをアマゾンに報告し、パリ協定に沿った排出量削減目標を設定することが求められる。
- アマゾンのサスティナビリティへの取り組みは重要な前進であり、企業への気候変動対応を求める圧力が、世界中の企業の上流サプライチェーンにまで浸透しつつあることの表れでもある。
【INGとEIB】ベネルクス地域の中小企業向けに6億ユーロの持続可能な金融プログラムを開始

- 両行は、ベルギー、オランダ、ルクセンブルクの中小企業向けに、新たに6億ユーロの持続可能な金融プログラムを開始すると発表。このプログラムは、電気自動車、持続可能な生産、グリーンビルディングなど、気候変動に焦点を当てた投資を検討しているベネルクス地域の企業に対し、低利の融資やリースを提供する計画である。
- 同プログラムは、企業と環境の双方にとってメリットがある。企業は持続可能なプロジェクトに投資することで、経費を節約し、環境への影響を減らすことができる。環境は、排出量の削減と大気の質の向上から恩恵を受けられる。
- また、ベネルクス地域の中小企業にとっても歓迎すべき後押しとなる。中小企業が持続可能な投資を行うために必要な資金にアクセスできるようになり、さまざまな地域の他の銀行や金融機関のモデルとなる可能性がある。このプログラムは、ビジネスと環境を支援するために、持続可能な金融がどのように利用できるかを実証するものとなるだろう。

【Haseko Corporation, NTT, and others】Accelerate efforts to make aquaculture business
(July 20, 2023)
- Haseko Corporation, in collaboration with Air Water, STI Food Holdings, Sekisui Chemical, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Mitsui & Co., and Mitsubishi UFJ Bank, announced that it will invest 21 billion yen to increase the capital of FRD Japan FRD. The investment aims to realize land-based salmon farming with low environmental impact and to develop large-scale In addition to financing the construction of the plant, FRD plans to use the funds for working capital, research and development, and investment.
- On the same day, Ichii, Okayama University of Science, and NTT East announced that they had succeeded in a demonstration experiment to commercialize completely closed-circulation land-based aquaculture using suitable environmental water. In this experiment, they succeeded in the world’s first land-based cultivation of sockeye salmon.
- The expansion of FRD and NTT’s land-based aquaculture business is expected to have a positive impact on sustainable food and the environment. Against the backdrop of global population growth and changes in food culture, the demand for marine products is increasing year by year, and the need for reproducible aquaculture products is growing. 【Amazon】To require suppliers to report emissions, set climate goals
(July 19, 2023)
- Amazon has announced that it will require its suppliers to report their emissions and set climate goals. The new requirements will apply to all suppliers that generate more than 10,000 metric tons of emissions per year.
- Suppliers will be required to report their emissions data to Amazon and to set emissions reduction goals that are aligned with the Paris Agreement.
- The requirements are a significant step forward for Amazon’s sustainability efforts and a sign of the growing pressure that is being put on companies to address climate change is trickling down to mid-tier upstream supply chains of companies around the globe.
【ING and EIB】 Launch €600 million sustainable finance program for SMEs in Benelux
(July 18, 2023)
- Both banks have announced the launch of a new €600 million sustainable finance program for SMEs in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, providing low-interest loans and leases to businesses in the Benelux region looking to make climate-focused investments, such as electric vehicles, sustainable production, and green buildings.
- The program is a win-win for both businesses and the environment. Businesses will be able to invest in sustainable projects that will help them save money and reduce their environmental impact. The environment will benefit from reduced emissions and improved air quality.
